The QS University Rankings has been released last June and 4 top universities in the Philippines 2015 are included among the 300 top universities in Asia.
QS University Rankings: Asia provides an overview of the 300 top universities in Asia. It lists the Asian countries with the strongest higher education offerings, and compare the top universities in Asia on nine key performance indicators.
The top 4 universities in the Philippines 2015 are:
- #70 – University of the Philippines (UP)
- #114 – Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU)
- #143 – University of Sto. Tomas (UST)
- #181-190 – De La Salle University (DLSU)
Compared to last year, UP slipped 3 notches from #63. ADMU improved from #115 while UST dropped from #141. DLSU dropped the most from #151-160 last year. Ateneo de Davao University failed to make it back to the list this year.

The tuition fee at UP is the lowest yet it’s quality of education is topnotch. Thus, it is true that you don’t need to send your child to an expensive school to get quality education. But it doesn’t mean that the other schools are out of reach. All of them offer scholarships also to deserving students.
When the time comes, which university to you plan to send your kids?
I prefer to send my kids to educational institutions in the Philippines or [other countries] where Jejemon, Swardspeak, and Tagalog are never used as medium of instruction.
