Gab and I had a chance of a clear night sky in the beach during our vacation in Sipalay. I quickly opened my stargazing apps to check of my favorite constellations. Gab became interested too. He looked for the location of the planets and some constellations that sounds funny to him.

Stargazing Apps for Kids
Skyview Free. Skyview apps is available for free but the essential features for stargazing are packed in this free app. Its night mode is perfect for viewing stars. Most constellations, planets, major stars and star clusters can be accessed with the Skyview free stargazing app. Additional purchase needed to access all the features like the complete planets, satellites, galaxies, Messier Objects and more. (Free, with in-app purchases) View in iTunes.
Startracker. Startracker as a huge list of 88 constellations and 100+ deep sky objects to track at night. It has an easy access button to search for all the planets, zodiac sign constellations, major constellations, stars and deep sky objects. It has several options for zoom, text size, constellation artworks, and night mode. Startracker inferface can be a bit crowded and messy. But you can disable some features and text to get a cleaner screen. A free version is also available with fewer lists and features. (2.99 USD, has Free version) View in iTunes.
Starlight. I find Starlight app simplier but has fewer features than the other apps. A free version gives you search access to all planets, constellations, and stars. What I love about the app is the information about the constellation which is not available in the other apps. I find this app the most kid friendly. (0.99 USD, has Free version) View in iTunes.
