Last year, Gab enrolled for his much awaited guitar lessons. We agreed that he had to wait until he was 7 to take a class.
We were searching, comparing guitar classes from different providers in Makati. We decided to have a trial lesson with our first choice – Musikala. Musikala offers different music lessons for kids, one on one or group lessons.
Musikala offers a trial class. As Gab doesn’t have his own guitar yet, he was lend an instrument for the 1 hour session. The teachers in Musikala will advise if those trying out are indeed ready or they are to wait for the right time to start. Teachers also recommended on what instrument we should look for.
For his age, a 3/4 size classical guitar was recommended. Not all stores carry small classical guitars but we were able to get one.

Gab enjoyed his guitar classes and we were surprised that he easily plays the instrument. He has been quick in learning the tabs, chords, notes and his songs. After his 12 sessions, he played Joyful Joyful in church and joined the summer recital organized by Musikala and Jollijam.
He enjoys his guitar lessons and loves the pieces that his teacher gives him to work on. He also get encouragements from his teacher that as long as he diligently practice, he will get better at playing even the challenging pieces.
We like it that we can request songs for Gab to learn. We mostly request for Christian songs he can play in church. Musikala is aslo flexible as they allow us to move and reschedule classes that falls on a travel days.
This year, Gab enrolled for a class again. He also joined the Musikala Goes to Hollywood Recital and played several songs in church.
Thank you to Gab’s Teachers (Teachers JM, Len and Jericho) for teaching him tips and tricks, and encouraging him to love playing the guitar more!
