Our family have been with Homeschool Global since we formally started homeschooling. It was still called The Master’s Acadmy (TMA) back then. We started with Kinder 2 and we are on to our 6th year this school year.
We love many things being with Homeschool Global. It made our homeschool journey easy. We have asked fellow HG homeschool moms to share with us their own experiences as well.
Nica Encinares, homeschooling mom of 1, chose Homeschool Global because they give a lot of options that make homeschooling fit in the family’s lifestyle and preference.
“In our first year with HG, I love being part of a Learn Group. It has been very helpful since we learn the ropes of homeschooling from other families. Our Learn Group also gives an opportunity for my child to have social interaction with other kids once in a while,” she says. She also appreciates that their family and learning advisers are reachable and responsive.
What Mec Arrevalo appreciates most in Homeschool Global is the flexibility in the actual teaching schedule. According to her, “Over the years, I have had to deal with pregnancies, lack of helper, sickness, balikbayan families that would usually affect our calendar. I probably wouldn’t have lasted as long as I have if I had to meet very specific deadlines every quarter. It’s enough space to grow and be without also losing accountability.” Mec also appreciates the co-ops and learn groups because it has given her family other families to grow with and love.
She hopes that Homeschool Global can offer more classes, like they do at the main hub, but per in learn groups. She adds that, “The enrichment classes HG offer are bang for the buck but Pasig is just too far and expensive.” She said that, “it would also be nice if HG can organize more family events and field trips, maybe partner with nature reserves too“. Mec is currently homeschooling 2 boys and on her 8th year with HG.
Tere Cua, homeschooling mom for 7 years shares that there are many reasons to love Homeschool Global. “First, the support they give to families by the encouragement, guidance and support given by our family advisors.”
“Second, the seminars and trainings that they offer helped us in our homeschool journey,” she adds. Lastly, with the different programs offered by Homeschool Global, she highlights the flexibity where she can choose the curriculum she believes is best for her family.
Mommy Ace says homeschooling was something that she wanted to do even in her little girl’s toddler years. She shook away the idea of homeschooling then things happened that they were forced to isolate their daughter due to leukemia.
“Being with Homeschool Global, especially under TLC, has made me trust myself more, ourselves more (husband and I) as parent-teachers. It validated my belief that it is possible to succeed in homeschooling even while working outside of our home. You just have to be flexible. We appreciate that deadlines are not rigid as we have laid back days during and after treatments. I know we have a long way to go, but this 1st year, which has not been easy, was made possible due to the support from our homeschool advisor, the rest of the TLC Team & co-parents in the same boat. Some of them are in an even worse scenario than ours but they are thriving. I look forward to moving to the regular program soon, but I’d rather not force my little girl, “ she explains..
Ace says, “What I would like is that HG would continuously conduct virtual sessions throughout the school year and even after the pandemic so we won’t have to risk our child’s health going to the hub whenever she’s most vulnerable. Not that they require it, but we don’t want to miss anything as much as possible. I hope they will give parents the option for all programs to virtually attend parent-teacher trainings and/or the sessions conducted at the hub, which would be advantageous for parents like us who won’t always be available to personally go to the hub (both of us have non-home-based jobs).”
