Gopala is a family owned homeschool provider founded in 2008. They offer an out-of-the-box learning experience.
Maria Lota Matias, a homeschool mom to Aries Ysabelle, is a Virtual Manager. Maria homeschooled her daughter, thru Gopala Learning Haven, homeschool support for 2 years going on their 3rd year this school year. “Homeschooling via Gopala Learning Haven is about connecting with your kid. Building a strong bond or relationship with them while they are young. They are all about yoga, vegan lifestyle, health and wellness which you can pass on to your kids and your community. What I love most is our journey – me, my daughter, and my mom – became colorful, interesting and exciting with Gopala. It has been full of memories which my daughter treasures everyday. “
She adds, “I also realized, based from Gopala’s teachings from Teacher Laksmi’s experiences, that homeschooling is not an easy path, but if you find the right fit for you, whether it is a curriculum, approach, with a provider or support, it should match your own lifestyle. You have to homeschool with an open mind and heart. It might not be perfect but it is through patience and hardwork that you can reap the rewards.” She hopes that there will be more zoom meetings for students, with Teacher Laksmi, more online seminars from Gopala and homeschooling groups and more training videos for both seasoned and newbie parents.
Ainjele Miranda, homeschooling mom and Program Director of Akda ESS, is with Gopala Learning Haven since 2017. She says, “Prior to being with Gopala Learning Haven, we didn’t have any immediate community for homeschooling. Since we are enrolled in Cainta and we live in Cavite, we did not bother to attend get togethers and school activities. Little did we know that Gopala is just one town away.“
The first time that they joined Gopala was the first time she saw her son get excited being homeschooled. “Marami pala akong katulad”, was her son’s exacts words. “From then on, we would go to Gopala’s farm in Silang because my son expects that we will go and attend all events and activities there. I look up to Teacher Laksmi with how she is able to encourage her learners get a good grasp of academics while playing or while having fun with nature, with Arts and Music. Her learners look so relaxed and engaged. I believe that only an educator with passion for her craft can do that,” she explains. Ainjele adds, “If there would be something I would want for Gopala, that would be a regular nature walk or nature study sessions. Being able to offer this on a regular basis to other learners other than homeschoolers, would be a great.”
